Acer ScanWit 2740S - Hardware

The following are (resized) scan examples that I made with my first Acer ScanWit 2740S scanner by different computers, operating systems, language versions, etc.:

I went into big trouble with my first Acer ScanWit 2740S. My second scanner of the same type is working normally and allows to create good scans now. But also, there are still some hardware related problems to complain. In summary, it's just poor hardware quality.

+ Acer adds an own SCSI card to the package. This avoids some kind of incompatibility problems.
± The scanner needs a warming up of up to 45 seconds after longer breaks.
÷ The first scanner that I bought did absolutely not behave as expected. See the examples above. - As the Acer service, which I contacted via Email, was not able to find out if it was a hardware, compatibility or what else problem, I installed different releases of there driver software in two different language versions and on 3 different computers using miscellaneous Windows operation systems. Finally, I let to replace the scanner because it got always a similar result.
÷ With the new scanner, I got the problem that the Acer SCSI card did not get enough contact to the PCI bus. This caused my new computer to crash a lot of times up to I found the trouble-causing reason. It seems to be okay now, but the other PCI card snap stronger into the connector.
÷ There are still spontaneous scanner faults from time to time.
